Prashani Rambukwella studied at Methodist College in Colombo. She became the children’s page editor of the Weekend Express, a national newspaper, and she created Chariots, a children’s board game while still a student that was adopted and produced by the Ceylon Bible Society.
Prashani graduated with a BA in English Literature from the University of Peradeniya, where she was known as a playwright and director. Two of her plays, Things that Matter and Light Bulb were performed at inter-university drama festivals. She also won the best director award for two consecutive years at the annual drama competition of the University.
Prashani has contributed articles to travelsrilanka magazine and the Literary Encyclopedia on the life and novels of Sri Lankan writer James Goonewardene.
Mythil’s Secret, her first book, was published by Perera Hussein Publishing House in July 2009.
